Being Apart to Be Together: Helping Members Tolerate the Tension of Intimacy - Teresa Solomita, LCSW, NCPsyAEvent Description:
The ability to set flexible / dynamic boundaries is an integral component to sustaining intimacy in relationships. Group members may tend to overly rigid or overly porous boundaries at the expense of self-definition and immediate communications. The presenter will briefly discuss boundaries as a roadblock to intimacy and demonstrate techniques that assist in resolving these resistances via an experiential process group. A final debrief of the experience will be included.
Teresa Solomita, LCSW-R, is a certified psychoanalyst and graduate of the Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies, a graduate of the Couples Institute, and an advanced student at The Center for Group Studies. Teresa has been in practice for over 15 years, specializing in helping adult women break self-destructive patterns in their relationships. She is in private practice in Brooklyn and NYC where she works with individuals, couples and groups.
