Work Group for Racial Equity - March Discussion
Event Description:The Eastern Group Psychotherapy Society’s Work Group for Racial Equity https://egps.org/work-group-racial-equity.php invites you to participate in discussion of readings and videos about racism. This is an open group, so join us when you can. We meet the third Monday of the month via Zoom so you may participate by video link from your computer or by phone. https://zoom.us/j/927269694 or +1 646 558 8656 Meeting ID: 927 269 694
March 20th 8:30-9:45pm:
Please watch the movie or read the book, Hidden Figures and read Ta-Nehisi Coates' article "My President was Black"
We encourage emotional risk-taking in each discussion. Bravery is the only means by which we can challenge the yokes of our racialized conditioning and deepen our capacity to connect with each other’s humanity. Be prepared to share how Between the World and Me emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually impacted you. During the discussion, be brave about sharing and listening deeply.
