Everybody has a body, but not everyone is permitted to reside in it without shame and censure. This month we gather to discuss the wholly original treaty and antidote, The Body in Not an Apology: The Power of Radical Self-Love. A private utterance of artist/author/activist Sonya Renee Taylor a decade ago grew into a trans-national movement to interrogate and upend policies of body-shaming of marginalized identities. The Body in Not an Apology goes beyond witness and protest, charting a direct course from personal to community transformation emboldened by collective intent, empathy, social justice, and principled vision.

The Work Group for Racial Equity is a "drop in” group for everyone, EGPS members and not-yet members. You are invited to participate whenever you can. We meet monthly on the third Tuesday evening of the month to discuss relevant books, films, podcasts and articles.
