What is Somatic Psychotherapy? How do you bring the body into group therapy? What advantages are there to running online groups over the phone as opposed to videoconferencing? In this 2 hour workshop, Jacob Winkler, LCSW, CGP, will demonstrate a style of group therapy that is uniquely relevant in these virtual times.
BIO: Jacob Winkler, LCSW, CGP, CAMS-II, leads a weekly process group in his out-of-network private practice in Highland Park, NJ, where he also works with couples, families and individuals.
He specializes in providing training, education, supervision and personal therapy for psychotherapists early in their career. He is also an artist and real estate investor.
Jacob received his Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University and has pursued training at the C.G. Jung Institute of New York, the Center for Group Studies and in Somatic Experiencing. Jacob created the Group Therapy program at the Blanton-Peale Counseling Center in Manhattan, where he ran a process-oriented supervision group for therapists and worked with adults of all ages struggling with anxiety, depression, social phobia, difficulties with aggression and problems with intimacy and relationships.
