Work Group for Racial Equity January Discussion Group: The Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. in 2026

As we will have just observed the holiday of Martin Luther King’s birth, it’s a good time to reflect on his legacy through the lens of recent events that have inspired fear, disgust, and desperation among many of us. Please join us for the Work Group for Racial Equity’s January Discussion Group in which we hope to co-create a healing space for conversation.

We’re attaching MLK’s speech accepting the award to which Donald Trump professes to aspire – or, more precisely, seems to think is his entitlement. And a brief reflection on what Dr. King might be focusing on were he to be here with us today.
