Work Group for Racial Equity - June Discussion
Event Description:How do we understand the fears imbedded in acts of racial hatred? As professionals, we're particularly attuned to ingroup and outgroup fears that are reenacted in these violent crimes. Each month on the 3rd Monday the EGPS Work Group for Racial Equity hosts a discussion via Zoom https://zoom.us/j/927269694 about a salient piece of writing or film about racial justice. Please join us by clicking on the Zoom link above or by telephone 646 558 8656 Meeting ID: 927 269 694. This is a "drop in group". That means that you are invited to participate whenever you can. Participation is not limited to EGPS members, so please invite colleagues who are interested in the discussion and other EGPS events.
June 19th 8:30 - 9:45pm discussion meeting: In advance of the meeting, please watch Jordan Peele's film Get Out.
We encourage emotional risk taking in each discussion. Be prepared to share how the article or film emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually impacted you. During the discussion, be brave about sharing and listening deeply.
