This is a workshop modeled on Stacy Nakell's recently published book: "Treatment for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors: An Integrative Psychodynamic Approach." Participants can expect an experiential body/skin awareness scan, a didactic component related to Esther Bick's concept of the "psychic skin," a process group, and time for a debrief.
Bio: Stacy Nakell, LCSW, CGP, is an author, licensed clinical social worker, certified group psychotherapist and certified clinical trauma professional. Her article, "A healing herd: Benefits of a psychodynamic approach in treating body-focused repetitive behaviors," was published in 2015 in the IJGP. Her book, "Treatment for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors: An Integrative Psychodynamic Approach," establishes the theory and practice of an integrative psychodynamic approach to BFRB treatment.
